Sipping on a Pina Colada in Puerto Rico is appealing to many Canadians because, not only is the country a relatively short flight away, but the process for arrival does not require a lengthy visa process.

The United Arab Emirates and Canada have announced a new open doors policy that will allow Canadians to travel to the country without a visa. Along with this new policy has come a tighter bond between the two nations and a surging interest in travel to the UAE.

The United Arab Emirates has long been an international intrigue to citizens of Canada and other countries. This pearl of a country offers beautiful beaches and world class resorts and shopping centers.

It is one of the most wealthy nations in the world, and this is evident even as you step into its opulently decorated airports. At the same time, the country has an intriguing history sprinkled with Muslim interests and foreign interactions.

For a long time, the UAE has been a difficult destination for Canadians to get to because of the visa policy. Not only are flights expensive to this area of the world, but the security measures make the process of entering the country daunting for many travelers.

While the cost barrier has not been lifted, the removal of the visa requirement makes Abu Dhabi or Dubai a more attractive vacation destination for Canadians.

Canada can count itself as one of the lucky few countries whose residents do not need to apply for a visa in advance of their arrival in the United Arab Emirates.

Many countries in Western Europe, like Spain, still need to go through the bureaucratic hassle of getting a visa in their passport. Because of this new opening of doors, embassies from both countries imagine that travelers will be more interested in forging a link between Canada and the UAE by visiting the other country.

Will the opening of doors encourage many Canadian families to visit the UAE? It is uncertain. Most likely, individuals who are adventurous enough to visit this country wouldn’t be intimidated by the visa process in the first place.

However, it is always nice to have options, and the opening of the UAE’s visa doors makes it another easy vacation getaway for Canadians to add to the list of possibilities. One wanting to enjoy the modern marvels of a country like Dubai need only book a ticket.
